Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Unwind after your flight and prepare for your birding journey across Kenya.
Day 2: Nairobi National Park
Begin your birding safari at Nairobi National Park, a remarkable sanctuary just outside the city.
Search for Secretary Birds, Kori Bustards, White-backed Vultures and seasonal migrants in a landscape where acacia woodland meets open plains.
Day 3 - 4: Lake Naivasha
Travel to Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley, a freshwater lake known for its excellent birdlife. Go on a boat safari to spot African Fish Eagles, Malachite Kingfishers, Jacanas and Grey-crowned Cranes.
Day 5 - 6: Lake Nakuru National Park
Continue to Lake Nakuru, known for its seasonal flamingo spectacles and excellent sightings of Pelicans, Yellow-billed Storks, Verreaux’s Eagle and Superb Starlings.
Game drives may also bring you close to rhinos, leopards and Rothschild’s giraffes.
Day 7 - 8: Kakamega Forest
Journey west to Kakamega Forest, Kenya’s only equatorial rainforest. This unique habitat hosts Great Blue Turacos, Turner’s Eremomela, Blue-headed Bee-eaters and over 360 other bird species.
Take guided walks among towering trees and forest trails.
Day 9: Return to Nairobi - Departure
After a final morning of birding around Kakamega, begin your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy scenic views of the Rift Valley as you reflect on the diversity of birds and habitats you’ve explored. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
