Details & Itinerary
Day 1 – Nairobi:
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by a representative of Akara Expeditions and given a short safari briefing before starting your journey to Tanzania.
Days 2 – Serengeti National Park:
Discover the best that Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park has to offer. Enjoy morning, afternoon and evening game drives across the Serengeti National Park.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park / Ngorongoro Conservation Area:
After breakfast and check-out, drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will drive through the Crater Rim from where you will have the opportunity to see the Crater in all its glory.
Day 4 – Ngorongoro Crater:
Wake up early to the views of the Crater, and after breakfast head off for a full day game drive on the Crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. The high walls of the crater serve as a natural enclosure for an abundance of wildlife. In the afternoon take a stroll on the rim of the Crater with your guide and relish sundowners with a sensational view.
Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater / Lake Manyara National Park:
After breakfast and check-out, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is small gem that was described by Ernest Hemingway as ‘the loveliest place I have ever seen’.
Day 6 – Lake Manyara National Park:
Enjoy a leisurely game drive, where you will have the opportunity to see the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Apart from the lions, the park has a shallow lake often covered by resident flamingos, lions that roam the park and large herds of buffalos and zebras.
Day 7 – Lake Manyara National Park / Tarangire National Park:
After breakfast and check-out, drive to Tarangire National Park famous for it’s impressive elephant migration and high concentration of game around the Tarangire River during the dry season.
Day 8 – Tarangire National Park:
Set out for an early morning game drive and witness large herds of elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, impala, gazelle, and eland feasting on the green shoots. In the afternoon you can explore the grassland around camp and at night search for the rarely seen, nocturnal animals. This is one of the few places in northern Tanzania where you can enjoy a safari by moonlight.
Day 9 – Tarangire National Park / Amboseli National Park:
After breakfast and check-out, drive to Amboseli National Park. After lunch and a siesta, enjoy game drives and bush walks, all with unrivaled views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Day 10 – Amboseli National Park:
After breakfast set out on a guided walking safari or a game drive through the bush. In the afternoon visit a local Maasai homestead, where you can tour their homes, interact with their families and enjoy the fascinating traditional stories.
Day 11 – Amboseli National Park / Nairobi:
After breakfast and check-out, experience a final game drive. Drive back to Nairobi and relax at a reserved hotel day room until transferring to the airport for your onward arrangements.
